Alejandro Cartagena is Vice President of Process Integration at Ceibo, responsible for scaling and implementing technology at the industrial level—from design, engineering, and procurement to startup and cathode copper production. With over 38 years in mineral processing, Alejandro has managed operations in copper, gold, iron, iodine, and nitrate salts.

 

His background spans mining operations in technical and managerial roles, as well as process and project management. He served as Global Business Development Director for Plant System Group & Hydromet, a mineral processing equipment supplier, specializing in solutions for hydrometallurgy and plant systems. Alejandro also co-founded a Latin American company focused on ore conveying systems and a technology venture dedicated to sulfide copper leaching. He brings strong negotiation skills, cross-disciplinary leadership, and expertise in technical, economic, legal, safety, and environmental areas, guiding projects from concept to stable operation.

 

Alejandro earned a degree in Metallurgical Civil Engineer from Universidad de Santiago and an MBA from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez.
