Nelida Heresi has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry with a focus on Innovation, Process Design & Analytics. She worked for many years at the IM2 Institute (Institut de Innovación en Minería Metalurgia), where she created the Hydrometallurgy Department, leading R&D projects from lab scale up to industrial settings.
From 2006-2019, she worked at JRI, managing engineering projects in hydrometallurgy, water treatments and biomass generation and served as CEO at CIMS- JRI, creating the Tech Center and advancing JRI’s R&D department. Since 2019, Nelida has been an independent consultant for industrial-scale, joining Ceibo as an advisor in 2021. She also served on Fundación Chile’s Tailings Technical Committee from 2017-2020 period and in 2022, she was awarded the Justicia Acuña prize by the Engineer Institute of Chile for her contributions to both the public and private sectors.
